Hey everyone out there in CMRO
land. Hope you are all doing well. things are still plugging along. I am in the
process of making arrangements for Dale Williams and myself to attend the
Meeting of the Minds in Sept. This is a really informative weekend that is put
on by the Motorcycle Riders Foundation. Dale and I will be splitting up our time
and attending separate seminars so that we can bring as much information back to
the region coordinators as possible. This is also a great opportunity for us to
meet and be met by board members from SMRO's all around the county and trade
ideas. Region 1 has graciously offered to pay for the conference cost which will
be $140.00 for the two of us. The rest of our travel and hotel expenses will be
covered by the state legislative fund.
Dale and I will be involved via conference call in the next
ROW meeting on August 13th where the group will continue to plan our strategy to
get this ROW bill passed into law. Senator Tim Grendell has pledged his support
of this bill. He is the chair of the Criminal Justice Committee where this bill
resides on the Senate side SB158. He has promised to schedule a hearing for the
bill in mid to late September. We are still looking for people whose lives have
been impacted by Right of Way Violations to testify before the committee either
in person or by written testimony. You can contact me at the state office if you
think you might be a candidate for testimony. That number is 800-964-2676.
